Anastasia V. Pergakis ~ 365 Days of Great Authors and Giveaways!

Anastasia Pergakis knew she always wanted to write. She began at a young age, writing those little stories about the apple tree in the yard. Though her love of stories stayed with her through her poetry stage in high school, she didn’t begin writing novels until she was almost an adult. That’s where she found her true passion.

Her characters visit her dreams – and sometimes during the day – to share their stories with her. Anastasia is merely the writer, but the characters are really the storytellers.

Anastasia lives in Columbus, Georgia with her husband and son. A stay at home Mom, she loves spending time with her son during the day, then writing furiously at night.

1) What genres are your favorites to read? How about to write in?

I love to read almost anything really but my favorite would have to be mystery/crime dramas. I have been reading a lot more action type of books lately, but I think that is because of my own book being a fantasy adventure novel with tons of fight scenes and such in it. I write fantasy mostly, but all my books have a hint of romance, mystery, suspense, and lots of action.

2) Who is one of your favorite characters that you have written? Please tell us about him/her and what book they are in.

This is a tough one! I have so many that I love for different reasons. But, for the sake of this post, I'll go with Derac Vidor, Captain of the Kinir Elite. He is from my debut novel, Cleanse Fire. He's a warrior elf, fiercely loyal to his country and her people. When in uniform, he's often a prickly sort of character, coming off as too serious and rarely smiles. But, get him around his mom, siblings, and nieces and he's a playful, relaxed sort of guy. I think he's my favorite just because of all my characters, he's the one that 'talks' to me the most! Plus, he's 6'4 and full of muscles. How can I resist that?

3) For those who have not read your work yet, what book would you recommend starting with?

Well, Cleanse Fire is my only book out at the moment, so I say start with that that one! :)

5) What is one thing that you could not live without?

I'm sure some of my friends would say Pepsi or nicotine, but truthfully, I could force myself to deal with that. I don't think I would survive without a way to write, whether it's my computer or pen and paper or a typewriter - as long as I have someway to write my stories, I'm happy.
