I would love to read this book. I've heard so many great things.

I follow your blog as you know.

I got my period the first time in school and went to the nurse's office and thought I was dying. They had to have my mom come to the school with new underwear for me. I was so horrified.

Extra entry---

I started my period at age 10 on Halloween night. I went trick or treating with one of those pads and belts (this will tell you how old I am) and felt like I was a penguin.

I would love to enter the giveaway!

I was 12 and since my mother had taken the trouble to seriously prepare me mentally and academically for 'the big day'....I was not surprised when it came! I was actually delighted and feeling 'grown up' and prepared to be treated more like a girl than ever before! I think it's wonderful how in certain countries this is a big production for girls and they actually have right of passage celebrations! It is indeed something special!

I was actually more annoyed than anything else! When I told my mother, she was on the phone with my aunt, and proceeds to blab about it to her after I asked her NOT to! Then goes around telling everyone else! Ugh. I ignored her for the rest of the weekend, lol.
I already dread how my daughters will be when she gets hers in a few years.

Thanks! lpmccann(at)gmail.com

My first period started when I was on a school field trip. My mom is one of those people who likes to give too much information so it wasn't really as bad as she made it out to be.

First period experience: I was 9yrs old (4th grade), and I was so excited! I had to immediately call my best friend (of the time) and share the news. I have no clue why I decided it was such a good thing...it's caused me grief ever since.

I also signed up to follow you at twitter (kherbrand)

My first period must not have been a big deal because I don't really remember it - I do remember the first time I had to use a tampon though - I wanted to do a water slide - and getting the tampon in took forever!!

I just became a follower on Twitter.

My first period was fairly uneventful - it happened first thing in the morning before school. Mom took care of me and off I went to school, no big deal at all.

I would love to read this book.

My first period was when I was 9 years old, I was scared to death. I thought I was going to die. My mother wouldn't tell me anything. She just said go wake up your sister, and she will tell you what to do. That was back when people didn't talk about periods, or sex, or anything else they deemed as taboo.

It was May 8 of my 7th grade year. Moving Up Day--I spent the day learning how to be an eighth grader. I didn't notice till I was home, though--not that it'd made a huge mess. Just stained underwear. I remember, for some reason, being horribly embarrassed at the idea of my dad finding out, though.

do include me for the book win and thanks.

my first time was a bit scarry and if I'd known what was in store for me I'd have panicked. I was in terrible pain every month for years until they discovered I had Endometriosis and did a partial hysterectomy. So much better since.
