Product Description:

Straight from the Horse’s Heart: A Spiritual Ride through Love, Loss, and Hope by new author R. T. Fitch is an altogether special book that sows more than a few wild oats of goodness, inspiration, and heart. This thoughtful and endearing collection of thirty distinct and timeless vignettes is rich and wise. Whether it is the rescue of a missing pony after a hurricane near the Gulf of Mexico or the heartfelt whinny of an abused horse in Nigeria, the author composes beautiful and poetic images on life. While this book’s significance is universal, animal and horse lovers are especially in for a treat as loss, turmoil, and grief are intertwined with heroic tales of survival and human empathy. With titles such as “I Sit in Wonder,” “She Stole My Heart,” and “Whispers in the Night,” on these pages is love and symmetry. This collection showcases the contemplative places of the heart, which we are able to learn from his four-legged friends, if we take time to listen closely enough.

About the Author:

R.T. Fitch is a jack-of-all-trades. In the past, he has worked with whales, dolphins, sea lions, and penguins at Sea Life Park in Hawaii. First introduced to horses by his wife, Terry, his fondness for all things equine has become an obsession. They spent several years in Brazil where they met Terry’s current equine companion, Apache. Once back in the US with Apache, their herd of rescued horses grew as they donated their time to support equine rescue efforts in Texas and Louisiana. The highlight of their rescue career came during the equine rescue efforts after hurricanes Katrina and Rita as outlined in Ky Mortensen’s book, Horses of the Storm. A past Director, R. T. currently sits on the Advisory Committee for Habitat for Horses. He and Terry live on a small farm outside of Houston Texas where they care for and enjoy their rescued horses, German Shepherds, cat, Koi and resident deer.

Here is what Lori has to say about this book:

Straight from the Horse’s Heart by R.T. Fitch

These stories are very touching and heart felt and heart gripping. Some of the best times I experienced in my growing up years were with my best friend , Gypsie, as which she taught me so much about me and about love and life. I was so touched when I read of his experience in communication with these horses because it is real and the things he learned was astonishing. R.T. and his wife Terry has set out to spread the word and tell people the stories of abuse and slaughter of these beautiful and intelligent creatures in hopes that this treatment will cease. They have fostered abused and saved many from slaughter and their work continues.

I did not know of the slaughtering until reading this book and I warn you even the coldest of hearts will grow weak from some of these stories but they must be read his stories must be told . Precious Ethan, and the others of unique personalities and what they brought to be R.T and Terry’s family is simply touching. This is a wonderfully written book I was engaged from the beginning, however I admit I could’ve finished sooner had I not put it down out of reflection and being moved by what I read.I am in awe of their work and envy what they are doing because I know they have had to feel much pain for the good they are doing. These are truly special people and what I encourage everyone to please tell people about them and what they are doing, even if I had never been so lucky to’ve been graced in my life by such a beautiful soul as I was, I would’ve come away from this book just as moved and felt the same compassion.

This book was not written for their personal gain but to help and assist the horses. The proceeds are donated to Habitat for Horses an Equine Protective Organization This is such a wonderful thing they are doing and am very happy to have gotten a chance to see inside their world. If you would like toview their website www.habitatforhorses.org I feel much love in my heart for Ethan and their family I feel I know them from this book.

I have rated this book overall a 5 star rating!
