Welcome 2009!

Happy 2009 Everyone!

Here we are, the first day of a whole new year. It doesn't seem possible, but it is. Now comes the pesky part of remembering to write "09" on everything instead of "08", lol. That seems to take me the entire month of Jan. to master.

With a new year, many view this as the chance to start over a bit, with things in their lives. Often times it is diet and excercise, accomplishing something not accomplished within the previous year perhaps traveling or seeing a place not seen before. Whatever those goals or hopes may be, I think it is important to have at least some small wish or goal to try to work on. It doesn't even have to be anything major, just something as simple as spending an extra hour with your kids or loved one, or even taking an extra hour for yourself a couple of times a week.

I have never been big on the whole resolution thing, however, I am beginning to realize the benefit of beginning a new year with a new outlook and/or approach to better one's life, in even the smallest of ways.

It is for this reason that I have decided to try, as much as I can, to accomplish two things that have always been important to me in my life. The first being : to stress less and to enjoy my kids more. I adore them both with all of my heart and soul, however sometimes I can let myself become overly stressed and allow that to take up a larger portion of my life than it should. The second goal that I want to strive to accomplish is to get back into writing. I want to write at least one page a day - be it part of a novel in progress, brainstorming or just emotional release. I am hoping that this may lead to getting a start on a few projects. I am also hoping this will lead to many more than one page a day. I figure that by setting the goal low, I won't overwhelm myself and perhaps feel defeated if I can't get a bunch of writing out.

As I said, these are two things that are very important, and something that I want to really work on. We will see how it all goes.
