Night of the Ninjas
by Mary Pope Osborne
'Night of the Ninjas' is #5 in the Magic Tree House series of delightful books for children. In this story, Jack and Annie travel back in time, to ancient Japan, in search items and clues to help newly befriended enchantress Morgan le Fay. Here they encounter evil Samurai warriors and find themselves face to face with the Ninja Master. What will they learn from the master and will it help them to find clues to help break the spell that Morgan is under? Will the evil Samurai get to the children before they can find their way back home again?
'Night of the Ninja' starts a new storyline within the Magic Tree House series. Books 5 - 8 focus on the telling of The Mystery of the Magic Spell. Though my daughter and I enjoyed this book, it did not seem to hold as much fascination as the previous ones. However, with several distractions throughout the past week, we were not able to sit down and really delve into the book as we are usually able to. So I think that may have played a part. We are anxious to move on to book #6 and see what adventure awaits Jack and Annie.
